Australian Reading Hour: Silent Reading Party

  • State Cinema Wine Bar 375 Elizabeth Street North Hobart TAS 7002 Australia (map)

Read Tasmania is bringing silent reading parties back to Tasmania.

Do you find it difficult to carve out time in your day to read?

Does life get in the way when you just want to sit back in a comfy chair to make a start on your growing to-read list?

Sounds like you need to attend a silent reading party!

Australian Reading Hour is on Thursday 19 September and we thought it was the perfect time to bring back our ever-popular silent reading parties.

Hosted by Read Tasmania, State Cinema and State Bookstore.

This event will be hosted in the State Cinema's new wine bar (where the bookstore used to be) and there will be drinks and food available to purchase.

The bar opens from 5pm and the silent reading will be happening between 8.15pm-9.15pm.

From 6pm-8pm, there will be a screening of 'Margaret Atwood: Live in Cinemas' in the State Cinema.

Readers can choose to go to both the screening and the silent reading party, just the screening or just the party.

Book tickets for the screening here: statecinema.com.au/Movie/Margaret-Atwood-Live-In-Cinemas

You can socialise before and after but silence is required from 8.15pm-9.15pm.
